Two Men Got Into a Fight at a Colorado Tesla Charging Station. One Died and the Other Is Now Under Arrest, Police Say.

One man is dead and another under arrest after a fight between two men at a Colorado Tesla charging station ended in a fatal shooting, according to authorities.

Around 9:40 a.m. on May 3, the two men, who have not been identified, were at a Tesla charging station in the parking lot of the Edgewater Public Market in Edgewater, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

A fight broke out between the two men and one of them was shot, The Mercury News reported.

The shooting suspect initially left the scene, but then called 911 to report his involvement in the fight. Police went to his home in Denver and arrested him, authorities said.

The shooting victim was transported to a nearby hospital and was pronounced dead at 10:20 a.m., The Mercury News reported.

Both men had a vehicle in the parking lot, but they are not sure the source of the dispute, officials said.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jenny Fulton said, “Edgewater police don’t know yet what they were fighting over, just that it occurred in a Tesla charging station area,” The Mercury News reported.

Fulton added, “We are looking into why there was an altercation in the first place.”
