A caregiver of an 89-year-old woman and her husband are accused of shooting the elderly person to death, police said.
On Jan. 5, police from Ponce Inlet, Florida, responded to a call and found 89-year-old Margaret D. Hindley with a gunshot wound. Police tried to provide care and she was taken to the hospital, where she died.
Two suspects were quickly arrested after they admitted to a relative that they shot the woman, according to Ponce Inlet police.
The suspects — Tyden P. Guinn and his wife Micayla Yusco — were both charged with first-degree murder and armed burglary. They are being held in Volusia County, Florida, jail.
Yusco was the caregiver for Hindley and would visit twice a day, police said.
When police arrested the duo, officers also found the gun used in the alleged homicide, officials noted.
