A Florida Man Got into an Argument with the Teen Mom of His Baby. Then He Plunged a Steak Knife into Her Chest.

An argument between a man and the teenage mother of his young son ended when he plunged a steak knife into her chest.

Now, he's paying for the crime.

A judge in Florida sentenced Kevin Ordonez-Garcia, 27, to life in prison for the 2018 murder, according to WEAR. Ordonez-Garcia previously pleaded guilty to second-degree murder with a weapon for killing 17-year-old Ana Gabrila La Espinal Lainez.

She was his ex-girlfriend and mother to his infant son, according to WEAR.

On Nov. 18, 2018, deputies from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported stabbing, according to the report. When police arrived, they found the victim. She was rushed to the hospital, where she later died.

According to the Panama City News Herald, the person who reported the incident said the victim was stabbed with a kitchen knife. The caller identified Ordonez-Garcia as the suspect.

One witness said he took the teen to meet Ordonez-Garcia. But then an argument started between the former couple, according to the News Herald. There was no word about what the argument was about.

The witness said he saw Ordonez-Garcia pull his ex’s head back by the hair and then stab her three or four times in the chest.

Police said Ordonez-Garcia ditched the knife in a dumpster and left his child’s mom to die.

Ordonez-Garcia was later found walking nearby soon after the stabbing, according to the News-Herald. His clothing was covered in blood and Ordonez-Garcia had defensive marks on his shoulder.

Authorities later found the knife used in the attack.
