Teen accused of killing his 9-month pregnant girlfriend in Florida

A man has been accused of murdering a Florida woman who was nine months pregnant with his child.

Reginald Perry Jr., 19, turned himself in for the shooting death of Felicia Jones, 21, according to the New York Daily News. Jones was found dead in Riverside Park in Jacksonville, Florida, weeks ago, the New York Daily News reported.

Officials did not specify the connection between Perry and Jones, but her family said he was the father of her unborn child, according to the New York Daily News.

Investigators ruled Jones’ cause of death was a gunshot wound and Perry was identified as a suspect, the New York Daily News reported.

Perry faces two counts of second-degree murder, according to the New York Daily News. Police have not released a possible motive for the shooting.

The baby was due Oct. 8, the New York Daily News reported.

“We want to let the world know that she was loved,” said Jones’ aunt Angelica Williams, according to the New York Daily News. “Her baby was expected. We wanted this baby. I was super excited about my nephew. All of that has been taken away from us. We’re distraught right now.”

The family has set up a GoFundMe fundraiser to cover expenses, which has raised $15,490 as of Oct. 4.

"Our family took a major loss we lost my niece and nephew," the page read. "This is a unexpected tragedy for our family and can’t believe we lost Felicia and her unborn child. He was set to be here in just two weeks.
