As Holston and Garcia Romero’s murder trial began, Cheyenne Papach took the stand as a witness. Papach was in a relationship with Marco Rico at that time. Rico was another suspect connected to the case. In 2020, he pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact and conspiracy charges.

The four met later at Rico’s Nissan Sentra, when Holston and Garcia Romero admitted to robbing someone for his shoes and iPhone. However, when the stolen phone could not be unlocked, Holston asked everyone to return to the scene to retrieve the password.
