Florida Men Bragged After Killing Firefighter for iPhone and Nikes, Witness Testimony Reveals Chilling Details

Two men, ages 20 and 19 at the time, gloated about their crimes after killing an off-duty firefighter. The Florida men attacked Christopher Randazzo, 39, for his Nike sneakers and iPhone. According to a witness, the men boasted about killing the firefighter shortly after committing the crime.
Torrey Holston, who is now 26, and Jose Garcia Romero, who is now 27, allegedly killed Coral Springs-Parkland firefighter Christopher Randazzo. The off-duty firefighter was leaving his second job as a bartender at Aruba Beach Cafe around 1 a.m. on October 19, 2019, when he was attacked.

As Holston and Garcia Romero’s murder trial began, Cheyenne Papach took the stand as a witness. Papach was in a relationship with Marco Rico at that time. Rico was another suspect connected to the case. In 2020, he pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact and conspiracy charges.
Papach, who was with the three men on the night of the murder, told the court Holston and Garcia Romero showed no remorse. Instead, they were boasting about killing Randazzo. She testified that the two men slipped away when she was having s-- with Rico at a beach near Aruba Beach Cafe.
The four met later at Rico’s Nissan Sentra, when Holston and Garcia Romero admitted to robbing someone for his shoes and iPhone. However, when the stolen phone could not be unlocked, Holston asked everyone to return to the scene to retrieve the password.

However, upon returning, they found Randazzo lying on the ground. According to WPLG, Papach said Holston and Garcia Romero yelled at a not fully coherent Randazzo. Then, Holston fired his gun and killed him.
After shooting the firefighter, Holston said, “I think I got him. I saw him slumped over.” According to Papach, he later gloated about the crime and said, “I can’t believe I caught a body.” He was allegedly smiling about the incident, while his accomplice, Garcia Romero, also joined.

He also allegedly called the gun he used to kill Randazzo "my military weapon.” He then told Garcia Romero, “We can rob him, and we can shoot him.” The pair was charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a deadly weapon, and criminal conspiracy. If convicted, they could face life in prison without the possibility of parole.
According to prosecutors, Randazzo was found with his face down. He was stripped of his red Nike sneakers, iPhone, wallet with $55 inside, and car keys.
