A man faces charges after he did not seek care for a child attacked by his pit bull, according to a report.
In recent days, police in Daytona Beach, Florida, arrested Trenton Boettcher in connection to the case. He was charged for child neglect and allowing a known dangerous dog to attack.
He was released from jail after posting $7,000 bail, according to WNDB.
Last week, his dog attacked his daughter and left puncture wounds, according to the report. Boettcher did not seek immediate care, and the wounds were not treated the next day, police said.
The victim’s stepmom took her to the hospital.
The dog is being held at a humane society, according to the report. Both Boettcher and the girl’s stepmom tested positive for cocaine, according to the report. The stepmom and the victim’s grandmother were also charged in connection to the case.
