Florida woman run over, killed in dispute over apartment parking spot, cops say

A fight over a parking space in Florida ended with one person dead and a man facing a murder charge, according to a report.

Brandon Zambrano was arrested this week in connection to the February incident, in Hialeah, Florida, according to Local 10.

Investigators said Zambrano ran over Olga Fernandez, 57, with his black Toyota Corolla and then fled the scene, Local 10 reported.

Witnesses said Fernandez’s adult daughter came back to her apartment and found someone parked in her assigned spot, according to the report. When Fernandez went to see the situation, an argument with Zambrano started.

That is when he ran over her and dragged her body into the street, according to Local 10.

Fernandez was taken to the hospital, where she later died.

“I don’t know what could have possibly been said in that confrontation to lead this person to decide to put their car in driver and take someone’s life like that,” Hialeah Police Lt. Eddie Rodriguez told Local 10 after the incident.

Police charged Zambrano with second-degree murder, petit theft and burglary.
