Two Florida teenagers accused of plotting to kill a classmate as part of a blood ritual were caught on camera joking about getting their makeup right for their mugshots while sitting in the back of a patrol car, according to newly released video from prosecutors.

The students from Lake Brantley High School in Altamonte Springs, Florida, 14-year-old Lois Olivios Lippert and 15-year-old Isabelle Aurelia Valdez, allegedly hatched a plan to kill a male classmate who they believed resembled the killer responsible for the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

The duo allegedly believed that killing their classmate would bring the shooter, Adam Lanza, back to life. Authorities with the Altamonte Springs Police Department were alerted to the alleged plot by another student, and the two girls were taken into custody on January 22. Lippert and Valdez reportedly carried a knife, flowers, candy, and cigarettes to the school to carry out the ritual, according to the arrest affidavit.

The Viral Video Played During Bond Hearing

In the video played in court during a bond hearing, the duo said they wanted to become a lesbian couple in jail.

Valdez is also heard telling Lippert that she was planning to do her makeup before her arrest but could not find anything before school, according to Fox News.

“I’m glad I don’t look too bad today,” Lippert replied. “At least they will see me in the mugshot some way or another,” Valdez replied.

Prosecutors argued that the teenagers posed a grave threat to society and must remain behind bars.

“There are no conditions of release reasonably sufficient to protect the community from the risk of physical harm,” Assistant State Attorney Domenick Leo said.

The court ruled in favor of the prosecutors, and the accused are now being held without bond. They are set to be charged as adults.

The Gory Details

In a motion for pretrial detention filed by prosecutors, Valdez told law enforcement that she planned to wait for the victim in the restroom and “stab him in the stomach or cut his throat”, leave flowers at the scene and smoke a cigarette after the homicide was complete.

She further indicated that she had come up with the plan to kill the victim approximately three months earlier. They also carried a bag containing Clorox wipes, a towel (to muffle the victim’s screams), and the knife that the defendant intended to use.

“During the recorded interaction, both defendants expressed disappointment that someone ‘snitched’ on them. Both discussed how much ‘time’ they would receive and how the defendant and the co-defendant attempted to sharpen the knife and discussed the items for the blood ritual while laughing,” the motion filed by the prosecutors stated, per Law and Crime.

Who is the Sandy Hook Killer?

On December 14, 2012, Adam Lanza entered Sandy Hook Elementary School and shot 20 students and six adult staff members before committing suicide as first responders arrived at the scene.

Prior to the shooting, Lanza allegedly killed his mother at their home in Newtown, Connecticut. He was reportedly obsessed with mass murderers and read about them extensively.
