A woman in Florida was arrested after allegedly throwing an avocado at her 68-year-old boyfriend and hitting him directly in the head, according to authorities.

Around 7:45 p.m. on March 12, court records show deputies responded to a call regarding a domestic disturbance at a residence in St. Petersburg, according to The Smoking Gun.

Deputies learned the suspect, 39-year-old Karleen Biswanger, and the victim had been living together for about one year prior to the incident and were “engaging in consensual sexual intercourse” during that time, officials said.

Biswanger allegedly chucked the fruit and other objects at the victim during an argument, court records state.

“The defendant threw an avocado at the victim’s face causing injury to his right eye," officials wrote in the documents. "The defendant also threw a metal hanging rod at the victim causing injuries to his upper right arm and forearm.”

Police said a neighbor witnessed “a portion” of the dispute, but did not give details on which part of the alleged incident they witnessed.

Biswanger denied “directly striking” the victim, police said.

The Smoking Gun reported that Biswanger has previous convictions for legal possession of Xanax, DUI, theft, probation violation, obstructing police, and driving without a license.
