A woman in Florida has been arrested after fatally shooting a man she was lying in bed with, according to authorities.

According to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a 911 call from a woman who said she was doing chest compressions on a man who had been shot in Weeki Wachee.

First responders arrived on the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital. He was then flown out to an area trauma center for more treatment, but eventually died from his injuries, police said.

Investigators determined 19-year-old Gabrielle Elizabeth Bohn was lying in bed with the victim when he was shot.

Deputies at the scene said they overheard “Bohn make concerning statements about accidentally shooting the victim.”

According to authorities, “A witness told investigators she was in another room when she heard a loud bang. When she went to the victim’s room, she observed Bohn holding the victim. The witness, who is a nurse, told Bohn to start CPR while the witness called 9-1-1. The witness then took over doing chest compressions from Bohn.”

While talking to deputies, Bohn allegedly gave conflicting statements on how and why the man was shot. Officials said she did “maintain the shooting was an accident and ‘she did not mean to shoot him.’”

Police did not give any details regarding the relationship between the woman and the victim or suggest how they think the shooting took place.
