A woman in Florida allegedly asked her Tinder date for some money to help her out with car troubles, but she then set the man and his car on fire in a hotel parking lot, authorities said.

On Nov. 16, the alleged victim, whose identity has not been released, picked up 25-year-old Destiny Lenai Johnson from the Holiday Inn in Miami after they met on Tinder, according to an arrest report obtained by WPLG.

The pair, police said, allegedly purchased and smoked marijuana together before he returned her to the hotel. The man told investigators they never had sex, according to the arrest report.

On Nov. 25, Johnson reportedly called the man around 5 a.m., asking him to meet at the hotel again, officials said.

The man agreed and when he showed up, he sclaimed Johnson approached the vehicle carrying a jug filled with what appeared to be gasoline, the arrest report states.

Johnson allegedly opened the car door and told him her car needed fixing and she needed money. The man told Johnson that he “did not appreciate” being asked to come to the hotel if it was just for money, but he gave her $60 to “help her out anyway,” authorities said.

According to the man, Johnson became enraged and started pouring the gasoline into the passenger side of his car, officials said. As he was trying to escape the vehicle, Johnson is accused of using a lighter to ignite the liquid.

The man told police that moments earlier, Johnson yelled, “You guys are out to get me!”

The man, who was ablaze when he escaped the burning car, rolled on the asphalt and was able to put the fire out on himself, but his car was destroyed, authorities said.

He allegedly told police that he pulled a gun on Johnson in self-defense, believing she could try to allegedly set him on fire again. However, according to the arrest report, she fled into the hotel when spotted the gun and she asked someone at the front desk to call 911, according to the arrest report.

Responded officers later located Johnson, who officers described as a “naked Black female with burns found stating she blew up a vehicle,” WPLG reported.

Johnson was transported to a local hospital, where she was treated for burns, officials said.

When speaking with police, Johnson, who is homeless, claimed she was “being sex trafficked” and she had been offered $60 for oral sex, which she declined, officials said.

On Dec, 4, Johnson was arrested and charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery causing great bodily harm and arson, according to authorities.

She was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where she was being held on a bond of $10,000 per charge.
