A 68-year-old man’s body was found inside a burning home, but police said the victim was shot before the fire.
Now, authorities have arrested his grandson in connection to the case.
On Feb. 14, the body of 68-year-old Andrew Donaldson was found inside his burning home in Oakwood, Georgia, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
An autopsy was completed on Donaldson and officials said they determined Donaldson had been shot.
Investigators believe the fire was started in order to destroy any evidence of the shooting, authorities said.
During the investigation, officials determined the suspect in the case was Donaldson’s grandson and he traveled from Wisconsin to Georgia, but the reason for the trip was not known at this time.
On Feb. 16, U.S. Marshals arrested his grandson, 29-year-old Lorenzo Moss, in Wisconsin. He was charged with malice murder and other charges are pending, officials said.
Investigators have not released a possible motive for the killing.
