A mom in Georgia faces charges after drunkenly crashing her car and killing her 12-year-old son, according to a report.
Madrina McCay, 41, was charged with first-degree vehicular homicide, DUI, failure to maintain lane and reckless driving, according to MyFox8. She was booked into jail this week.
The crash happened on Johnny Mercer Boulevard on Aug. 23 in Chatham County, Georgia, police said. Fox8 reported that McCay drove her vehicle off the road and crashed into a tree.
The road was closed for several hours after the crash.

Friends and family started a GoFundMe page to help cover the family’s funeral expenses for the victim. The page identified the 12-year-old as Logan McCay.
Logan lived with his father and brother and was visiting his mother when the crash happened, the page read. The crash left Logan’s dad, Clay, with both the emotional page and a financial burden.
“This child was a bright light in the world. He loved his family, his friends and all types of creatures with scales or fur,” the page read. “His mind was quick and he was a joy to be around. The world is a darker place without him.”
