Georgia man arrested for allegedly murdering his father, attempting to kill his mother

A 26-year-old man has been arrested after he killed his father and tried to kill his mother, police in Georgia said.

Around 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 28, Hall County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a problem unknown in the 3800 block of Old Cornelia Highway in Gainesville, Georgia.

Deputies found the body of Esteban Andrade, 52, in a building behind the home, according to the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

Andrade showed signs of blunt force trauma on parts of his body, cops say.

Investigators identified his son, Steve Joe Andrade, 26, as a suspect in the death, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. Investigators have not said what led Andrade to allegedly kill his father.

Shortly after 9 a.m., police stopped Andrade in his vehicle and took him into custody without incident.

He faces charges of malice murder and felony murder in connection to the death of his father.

In addition, Steve Joe Andrade has been charged with felony criminal attempt to commit murder, aggravated assault FVA and felony kidnapping for crimes committed against his mother, Nora Andrade, 52, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

He is being held without bond in the Hall County Jail, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
