An educator in Georgia is accused of hitting a student with a purse, according to a report.
Police in Forsyth County, Georgia, arrested Felicita Herrington, 56, and charged her with second-degree cruelty to children, according to WAGA.
Police responded to the Futures Program on Sept. 6. There, the principal told police that a 10-year-old student had become upset because the math teacher was running late and did not leave classwork.
The student then threw Uno cards at Herrington, had initially taken her purse and pushed her, according to the report.
That is when police said Herrington hit the student with her purse.
The child’s eye was red and puffy, but he had no other injuries, according to the report. Herrington told police she was trying to defend herself.
