Two women have been arrested in Georgia after they allegedly forced a 7-year-old girl to ingest marijuana, according to authorities.
Deputies from Floyd County were called to investigate a case involving child cruelty, according to an arrest report obtained by WSB-TV.
During the investigation, authorities determined Nicole Lucille Rinker and Racquel Price gave the child a THC gummy and a THC vape pen and forced her to smoke it, the report shows.
The arrest report also states the girl told the women she didn’t want to ingest the drugs because she didn’t like how it made her feel, WSB-TV reported.
According to medical staff, the child suffers from an underlying medical condition, but they didn’t say what the effects of the THC would have on the condition.
“The child was placed under excessive mental and physical stress due to accused intentional actions,” according to the arrest report.
Police didn’t say why Rinker and Price made the child ingest the drugs, nor did they mention the relationship between the women and the 7-year-old.
Rinker was arrested and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, first-degree child cruelty and reckless conduct, officials said.
