Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence on s-- trafficking charges, is considering a new strategy to secure an early release from prison. After several failed appeals to overturn her conviction, Maxwell has indicated she may disclose the names of Jeffrey Epstein’s associates who were involved in abusing victims.
Maxwell, 64, was the former girlfriend and a longtime associate of convicted s-- offender and child abuser Jeffrey Epstein. She was arrested in 2020 and found guilty of s-- trafficking for recruiting minors for Epstein to abuse. In June 2022, she was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison and a $750,000 fine.

Maxwell has claimed that she was made a scapegoat, as the authorities had to punish someone in the absence of Epstein, who died while awaiting trial in 2019. According to Radar Online, Maxwell filed a writ of habeas corpus in December, in which she signalled that she is willing to name Epstein’s co-conspirators.
She alleged that at least 25 men abused victims and later reached settlements with them to buy their silence. “New evidence reveals that there were 25 men with whom the [accuser's] lawyers reached secret settlements – that could equally be considered as co-conspirators,” the socialite reportedly wrote in her petition.
She continued, “The Government could have indicted the 4 named co-conspirators, or any of the 25 men that settled secretly with the lawyers for the [accuser] complainants, but they didn't.” Experts believe Maxwell is trying to pressure powerful individuals into using their influence to secure her early release.
This is the first time she has indicated that she could provide names to prosecutors. Epstein was known to have connections to influential politicians, businessmen, and socialites. Many of them have been named in the recently released Epstein Files; however, according to the Justice Department, this does not prove any wrongdoing.
Talking about Maxwell’s petition, private investigator Ed Opperman said, “It's an absolute negotiating chip – she wants a pardon, a reduction in sentence, a commutation. She's throwing this out so that the people on that list will use their wealth, power and influence to get her out of prison to keep her quiet.”
Opperman further pointed out that if the names of these men are exposed, federal agencies could go after them, even though they reached settlements with the victims. In fact, the settlements can also be considered an admission of guilt.

Maxwell has long asked for clemency, and even President Donald Trump once stated that he might look into her case. “I haven't heard the name in so long. I can say this, that I'd have to take a look at it. I would have to take a look. I will speak to the DOJ,” the President said in October 2025.
However, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt later stated that Trump is not considering pardoning Maxwell. The accused is currently being held at the low-security Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas, where she was transferred from FCI Tallahassee in August 2025.
