A former ADT security employee hacked into home cameras to spy on pretty women and watch couples having sex.
Now, his victims will watch him head to prison for four years.
Telesforo Aviles, 35, worked for ADT and he pleaded guilty to computer fraud during a January hearing. This week in a Texas federal court, he was sentenced to 52 months in prison.
Aviles admitted he routinely added his email to customer’s accounts, which gave him real-time access to their cameras in their homes, according to federal prosecutors. Sometimes, he would claim he would need to add his email temporarily to test the system but didn’t remove his account.
The employee noted which homes had attractive women and logged into their accounts to view them. Prosecutors say he watched for sexual gratification. Aviles also watched couples having sex inside their home.
For more than four years, Aviles secretly accessed 200 customer accounts nearly 10,000 times without their consent, according to prosecutors.
“This deliberate and calculated invasion of privacy is arguably more harmful than if I had installed no security system and my house had been burglarized,” a female victim told the court in an impact statement, according to prosecutors. "This sick and corrupt individual's actions will have a lasting emotional and mental toll on me."
