After an argument between dating rappers in Houston, police say a woman shot a male musician through the front door of his apartment.

According to authorities, police were sent to the apartment of Martell Derouen in January, a rapper known as Kardone and cousins with Beyonce, after a woman claiming to be Derouen’s wife told officers that she hadn’t heard from him in several days.

Police said the number the caller called from did not actually belong to his wife and the woman had a different voice.

The woman told police she was locked out of the apartment and was worried her husband might be hurt, authorities said.

The 911 operator asked for the address and the woman only gave a street name, which was incorrect, but then corrected herself and could not provide the correct apartment number, police said.

After further review, police said the woman was identified as Sasha Skare, given the information she provided and her last known address was on O’Connor Road.

When police arrived for the welfare check, they found Derouen shot to death inside, police said.

Court documents show that rapper Skare was in a relationship with Derouen at the time of his death.

KSAT reported that police believe the two got into an argument, which led to Skare shooting Derouen through the front door of his apartment on January 22.

Skare was arrested in February, but a grand jury indicted her this month on a murder charge, according to authorities.

She also faces an aggravated robbery charge in connection to a deadly shooting in November 2019, police said.
