Around 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 15, Ezenna Ukachukwu believed the pair were trying to shoplift items from City Gear in Houston, KPRC-TV reported.

Craft attempted to use merchandise from the store to staunch the bleeding from Ukachukwu’s wounds, but the 34-year-old father of two died at the scene.

“It’s terrible. It’s going to be bad for a while, real bad. This is a real big loss,” Craft told KPRC-TV.

“He didn’t deserve this,” said another of the victim’s friends, Ryan Robinson.

Police said one suspect wore a beige hoodie while the other had on a black hoodie with the character Naruto on the back.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers Houston at (713) 222-TIPS.
