A woman in Houston has been arrested after she allegedly strangled her teenage girlfriend to death and dumped her body near a bayou, according to authorities.

Around 5:40 p.m. on Jan. 5, officials from Harris County located in Houston the body of the victim, later identified as 18-year-old Tierra Horn. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Houston Police Department.

An autopsy completed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences determined Horn’s death was the result of homicide.

According to KRIV-TV, the autopsy showed Horn died due to compression to the neck.

Officials said Horn’s family hadn’t seen or heard from the victim since Jan. 2, and they reported her missing on Jan. 4, one day prior to police locating her remains.

According to court records obtained by KPRC-TV, Horn and her girlfriend, 24-year-old Shania Turner, got into a fight before Horn's disappearance.

Turned believed Horn allegedly gave her a sexually transmitted disease, so she strangled Horn and then dumped her remains on the Buffalo Bayou Trail, investigators claim in court records.

On Jan. 11, Turned was arrested and charged with murder, officials said.

She was booked into the Harris County Jail.
