A man has been charged with murder after he shot his estranged to death with their 4-year-old child nearby, according to prosecutors.
On Nov. 6, Eriberto Beltran Arenas, 36, confronted Lillim Orozcozelaya, 26, “about cheating allegations” at her Belmar Avenue apartment where she lived with their child and a roommate, The Mercury News reported.
Prosecutors say the roommate took the 4-year-old child to another room and Orozcozelaya was shot two minutes later, according to The Mercury News.
Arenas allegedly broke down the door, pointed a gun at the roommate and the child and threatened to kill the roommate, The Mercury News reported.
Arenas also allegedly called several of Orozcozelaya’s family members, including her mother, to tell them he killed her, according to The Mercury News.
He was arrested by San Francisco police and had 18 firearms registered to his name, The Mercury News reported.
Arenas appeared in San Mateo County Superior Court and didn’t enter a plea and asked for a week to be given an attorney, according to The Mercury News.
He is in custody on $11 million bail and his next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 18, The Mercury News reported.
