On the morning of Sept. 5, police officers in the downtown Boise area heard multiple gunshots fired near 6th Street and Grove Street, according to authorities.

Officers approached the area and saw a man, who was not a suspect in the shooting, dragging another man out of the street, KTVB reported.

Police worked to secure the scene and determined the victim had multiple gunshot wounds, officials said.

Life-saving measures were performed by the officers until paramedics arrived, but the shooting victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Multiple witnesses were interviewed and officers determined the suspect fled the scene of the crime before officers arrived, authorities said.

Officers set up a perimeter and began searching the area when they were able to identify the suspect as 20-year-old Timmothy Morgan, KTVB reported.

Morgan was found, arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on charges of felony second-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon, officials said.

The identity of the victim has yet to be released, police said.
