A recent bulletin from the Department of Homeland Security outlined enforcement actions by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. On Monday, the agency lodged an immigration detainer against a 19-year-old man from Venezuela who is accused of killing his co-worker.

ICE requested that local authorities in Texas not release Josue Abraham Chirino-Leonice from custody. Authorities allege he fatally attacked a co-worker with a sledgehammer at a construction site.

DHS Issues Stern Warning About Illegal Aliens Turning Killers

The Department of Homeland Security statement included a warning against letting illegal immigrants from third-world countries. The DHS bulletin stated, “If you import the third world, you become the third world.”

The DHS revealed the brutal nature of the murder committed by Josue Abraham Chirino-Leonice. He is an illegal immigrant from Venezuela.

Teenager Brutally Murdered His Co-Worker In Cold Blood

Based on local reports and court documents, the 19-year-old suspect, Josue Abraham Chirino-Leonice, is accused of killing Juan Antonio Salinas Leija with a sledgehammer. Authorities said he repeatedly struck the victim with the tool, causing his death. The body was later found inside a home under construction near Goldensong Court.

On April 12, Chirino-Leonice was arrested by police in Pasadena. Officers spotted him driving in the area in a vehicle belonging to the victim. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has since requested that local authorities place a detainer on the suspect at the Harris County Jail.

Authorities said U.S. Border Patrol had previously encountered the suspect in November 2023 as an unaccompanied minor at the border. He was later released pending immigration proceedings.

ICE puts a hold on release of illegal alien from Venezuela who's charged of murder

DHS Blames Biden Administration For Leaking In Illegal Immigrants

Lauren Bis, acting assistant secretary at the Department of Homeland Security, commented on the incident and criticized immigration policies under former President Joe Biden. She said the policies allowed Josue Abraham Chirino-Leonice to enter the United States.

In her statement, she said, “This criminal illegal alien from Venezuela is accused of savagely beating a co-worker to death repeatedly with a sledgehammer and stealing his car. This barbaric criminal, illegal alien, should have never been released into our country by the Biden administration. If you import the third world, you become the third world.”

Similar opinions were also expressed by the acting Field Office Director for ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations in Houston. Gabriel Martinez stated, “This criminal illegal alien — who never should have been allowed into the country in the first place — is accused of savagely beating a co-worker to death with a sledgehammer and leaving him to die in a house they were renovating together.”

The request for putting an arrest detainer on the suspect for the sledgehammer murder isn’t the first one that the ICE has done. They moved the local authorities for the same decree previously for a Haitian illegal immigrant. The suspect had been accused of violently killing a woman and her mother outside a gas station in Fort Myers.
