Suspect Believed Man Was Stealing His Electricity So He Shot Him Dead, Cops Say.
A fight over electrical issues ended with Alley fatally shooting his neighbor.

A man fatally shot a person he thought was stealing his electricity and “hacking into his network,” according to court documents.
This week, the Delaware County Prosecutors Office in Indiana announced murder charges against Cy Alley.
On Aug. 23, deputies from the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported shooting. When deputies arrived, they found Gary Copley dead and lying against a house. He had been shot multiple times and a shotgun shell was found at the scene, according to court records.
A witness told investigators he saw Alley shoot the victim and drive back to his home.

Police arrested Alley and found a shotgun shell in his pocket that was similar to the one at the scene, according to court records.
Alley told police he was having trouble with electricity at his house, and assumed Copley was hacking into his network. Alley told police he confronted the victim and shot him four times, according to court records.
“Cy was not remorseful for his actions,” police wrote in an affidavit.
