A woman is accused of reckless homicide after she shot and killed a hunter in the woods, authorities in Indiana said.
Around 3:15 p.m. on Oct. 29, witnesses reported a man had been shot in the woods in Salem, Indiana, according to Indiana State Police. Officers arrived and found Michael Walker, 55, dead from a gunshot wound.
Investigators determined that Walker, two other men and their dogs were hunting on property behind a nearby home.
Detectives also learned that Krystal N. Grangier, 35, fired at least one shot towards Walker and the dogs. One of the shots hit Grangier, according to Indiana State Police.
Grangier was initially charged with a misdemeanor charge of false informing. But, after an autopsy, police now charged Grangier with reckless homicide.
