A man has been charged with murder after he fatally struck an Indiana local business owner with his car after allegedly following him into a parking lot, according to police. The incident occurred on April 6 when the victim was struck while walking inside a parking lot following an exchange with the accused.
The victim, identified as Tony Pendleton, was struck in the parking lot after an altercation with the accused.

Officers with the Griffin Police Department responded on April 6 to a fatal pedestrian incident at a parking lot near the 1100 Block of E. Ridge, Roag in Griffin, according to the statement from the Griffin Police Department. Pendleton sustained serious injuries after being struck and later died, police said.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Atrailu Moore of Greay. Moore allegedly followed Pendleton into the parking lot, where they had a heated exchange. Moore then allegedly entered his vehicle and struck Pendleton, causing fatal injuries, detectives said.
When responding officers arrived, Moore was still present in the parking lot and was taken into custody. Details of the interaction between Moore and Pendleton have note yet been released as the investigation remains ongoing.
According to the online court records, on April 8, Moore was charged with murder by prosecutors. Moore is currently held at the Lake County jail.
Pendleton’s daughter, Danielle, said in a written statement, “A great man of God was taken from his family. All he wanted was to be happy, be peaceful, and continue to create a legacy for us—the most amazing father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. My daddy was one of a kind. He always gave the best advice. He taught me how to see the good in a bad situation. I am still in disbelief.”
Online court records show no attorney is currently listed for Moore. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward and contact investigators.
