Woman Shot Dead By Man She Knew, Indiana Cops Say. But, Authorities Have Withheld A Motive.

A woman was shot dead in Indiana and now police say they arrested a man who knew the victim on a murder charge.

Last week, police in Evansville, Indiana, announced the arrest of 44-year-old Clifton Fletcher.

Around 9 a.m. on Dec. 4, police responded to a reported shooting on Clayton Avenue. When police arrived, they found a woman who had been shot. She died at the scene.

The name of the victim has not been released.

Fletcher was identified as a suspect and he knew the victim. But authorities have not released a motive in the case.

Investigators said Fletcher arrived at the victim’s home in a Chevy Tahoe and shot the victim multiple times. He fled the scene in the Chevy, which was ditched in a nearby parking lot.

Fletcher was later arrested and charged with murder.
