A former Baptist missionary in Iowa found guilty of sexually abusing a young girl and giving her a sexually transmitted disease has been sentenced to at least 17 years in prison.
According to The Fort Dodge Messenger, a judge ordered 31-year-old Jordan Webb to serve 25 years in prison for second-degree sexual abuse with persons under the age of 12, five years for incest and two years for child endangerment.
Webb was convicted by a jury in April of the charges. The judge stated he must spend a minimum of 17 ½ years in prison before he is eligible for parole and he will not be allowed to contact the victim for five years.
He will also have to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.
In April 2022, the female victim started exhibiting “some health concerns” and she was reportedly diagnosed with gonorrhea, The Messenger reported. Webb also tested positive for the sexually transmitted disease days before the young girl received her diagnosis.
Prosecutors argued that Webb sexually abused the little girl, which caused her to contract the infection.

During his sentencing, Webb said, “I would just like to say that I still maintain that I did not do this,” The Messenger reported.
Webb plans to appeal the conviction.
