A man was shot and killed at a bar in the Sioux City area and Iowa police say a teen was charged in connection to the fatal shooting.
Sioux City police arrived at the bar around 1 a.m. May 1 and found a man lying in the street with a gunshot wound, according to authorities.
Cops said they provided aid to the victim before he was taken to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries.
The Sioux City Journal reported police received a report around 4:30 a.m. about a man who matched the description of the shooter.
Officers went to the location and found a 17-year-old with a handgun, police said.
The 17-year-old has not been identified, but he was taken into custody on charges including first-degree murder, willful injury, assault while participating in a felony and going armed with intent, authorities said.
Since the investigation is still ongoing, the name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of his next-of-kin, according to authorities.
