Jeffrey Dahmer’s Gruesome Killing Spree That Shocked The World

Jeffrey Dahmer was killed by a fellow inmate in prison
The crimes of Jeffrey Dahmer shocked the whole world. Dahmer, who was born on May 21, 1960, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is considered one of the most notorious serial killers to date. His crimes were very gruesome, as he committed cannibalism and necrophilia.
He mostly targeted vulnerable young men of African-American, Asian, or Latino descent. Dahmer often found his victims at gay bars and then lured them to his apartment, offering money for photos and companionship.
Dahmer Killed 17 Young Boys And Men
His first known murder took place in 1978 in Bath Township, Ohio. It was just weeks after he graduated from high school. The serial killer targeted hitchhiker Steven Mark Hicks, 18. He lured him to his home with an offer to drink beer. At his home, he attacked the young man with a 10-pound dumbbell when he tried to leave.
Dahmer then brutally strangled him to death. Records show that he dissected the body and buried the remains in his backyard. Later, he ground the bones and scattered them in the woods.
His second murder did not occur until almost a decade later. According to FBI records, Dahmer met Steven Tuomi, 25, at a gay bar in Milwaukee in 1987. The pair got a room at the Ambassador Hotel, where he killed Tuomi.
He later claimed that he was heavily intoxicated at that time and experienced a memory lapse. Dahmer allegedly woke up with Tuomi dead in bed. His chest was bruised and “crushed in.” Afterward, Dahmer engaged in necrophilia before dismembering the body. He then dumped the remains at his grandmother’s house.
Tuomi was the first victim of his killing spree, as just two months later, he killed James Doxtator, 14. The murder this time was targeted. Dahmer lured Doxtator, who was a Native American, to his grandmother’s home. The boy was a s-x worker, and Dahmer proposed to him to pose for n-de pictures in exchange for $50. He later strangled him to death and dismembered his body in the same manner he did with Tuomi’s.
Dahmer Was Arrested After A Man Managed To Escape Him In Handcuffs
Over the next five years, he continued his killing spree, claiming at least 14 more victims. However, in July 1991, Dahmer was finally arrested after his intended victim, Tracy Edwards, managed to escape.
According to the records, Edwards, then 32, suffered a nightmarish four hours in Dahmer’s presence. At the end of it, he managed to talk him down and flee quickly. When he escaped, the man still had the handcuffs on, which immediately flagged down the police.
Dahmer was arrested in his apartment after the cops found photographs of dismembered bodies and a human head in his refrigerator. Authorities were notified, and a prompt search unveiled more body parts and several skeletons from his apartment.
Initially, Dahmer pleaded not guilty. However, later he changed his plea, claiming insanity. In 1992, he was sentenced to 15 consecutive life terms after a jury found him sane. Later, another life sentence was added for his first murder in 1978.
In 1994, Dahmer was killed by a fellow inmate in a Wisconsin prison.
