Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi found herself right in the middle of it all as she quickly became the face of the series.

But, in July 2010, as the series was ongoing, she found her face in front of a police mugshot camera.

In Seaside Heights, New Jersey, Polizzi was arrested around 3:30 p.m. on a Friday and charged with disorderly conduct, criminal annoyance and disturbing the peace, according to People Magazine. The diminutive star was seen intoxicated in public and bothering beachgoers.

“She didn’t hurt anyone or get in a fight,” a source told the magazine at the time. “She just needs to be in a drunk tank for two hours.”

The arrest led to a mugshot that showed Polizzi with disheveled hair and smeared massacre. It led some to wonder if the arrest was part of the show or real life.

It was real, and months later, she pleaded guilty to charges. She paid a $500 fine and was sentenced to two days of community service, according to the Los Angeles Times.

“Jersey Shore” continued to air until 2012. Years later, the show came back on the air with Polizzi in her role, though a bit older and wiser.

Last year, Polizzi took to Instagram to joke about her arrest, that at the time was 11 years old, according to People Magazine.

"Happy Anniversary. 🏖 #history #CriminalAnnoyance," Polizzi wrote in the caption.

The seemingly innocuous crime at the time has become a bit of a joke years later. One that keeps Polizzi relevant to her throngs of social media followers.
