Kentucky Man Accused Of Killing Wife Three Years After House Went Up In Flames: Report

A Kentucky man whose wife died in a fire more than three years ago was arrested and charged with killing her, according to WLKY.

On Oct. 20, Kentucky State Police announced the arrest of Joshua Wolford, 36, of Hodgenville, who is accused in the death of his wife, Chasidy Wolford. However, police have not released the circumstances in which Joshua Wolford is being charged.

"There could be further charges coming, but it is still an ongoing investigation, and I can't get into the specifics of how they came down to it," Kentucky State Trooper Scotty Sharp told WLKY.

Sharp expressed gratitude that authorities were able to make an arrest in the case. "This case has been on their mind for a while. They haven't given up; they wanted the family to have closure and to feel like justice has been served," Sharp told WLKY.

According to police, a home in LaRue County caught on fire, and officials who responded a little before 5 p.m. that day found Chasidy Wolford, 30, dead inside the house.

"In the last several months they started feeling more confident, by evidence and witnesses they were able to contact or people that might have known something about it," Sharp told WLKY.

Joshua Wolford is being held in the LaRue County Detention Center.
