Dad Arrested After His Missing 12-Year-Old Daughter Was Found Dead, Police Say

A man is in custody and facing murder charges after police said he killed his 12-year-old daughter.
On Aug. 30, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office in Kentucky arrested Stacy Collins, 47. He was charged with murder in connection to the death of 12-year-old Stacia Collins.
The investigation is ongoing, sheriff’s officials said.
The child’s body was found on Aug. 11 in a scheduled area, and the cause of death was not released, according to WCHS.
Authorities were looking for Stacia Collins after determining she was missing.
The investigation started when police responded to an assault and found that Stacy Collins had suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the report. From there, investigators determined the 12-year-old was missing.
Stacy Collins is now being held in a Kentucky jail.
