Las Vegas Man Accused of Murdering His Girlfriend After Police Find Her Body

A woman was found dead at a home in Las Vegas and now authorities say her boyfriend has been arrested in connection with her death.

Around 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 14, officers responded to a call about a possible person injured, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Once at the scene, they found the deceased female victim and 50-year-old James Gina III, police said.

Detectives determined that Gina was the victim’s boyfriend and a suspect in the case.

Gina was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center, officials said.

He was charged with open murder involving a deadly weapon and owning/possessing a gun by a prohibited person. He is being held without bail, authorities said.

Officials did not immediately release any details surrounding the alleged murder or the victim’s identity.

The victim’s identification along with a cause and manner of death will eventually be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after an autopsy is completed.
