Louisiana man beat his girlfriend, causing her to lose her unborn baby, cops say

A man has been arrested after he allegedly beat his girlfriend, causing her to lose her unborn baby.

On Aug. 10, police responded to a domestic disturbance on the 800 block of Orange Street in Monroe, Louisiana, according to MyArklamiss.

Authorities say the victim told police she was beaten by her boyfriend, Cameron James Criner, 19, and that she is currently pregnant with his child, MyArklamiss reported.

Criner allegedly made threats to punch her in the stomach so she would lose the baby, according to MyArklamiss.

On Aug. 11, the victim said she could no longer feel her child moving, MyArklamiss reported.

She was taken to the hospital the next day, where she was told the baby no longer had a heartbeat, according to MyArklamiss.

Police say the baby was delivered dead on Aug. 13, MyArklamiss reported.

According to the arrest report, Criner was arrested on charges of second-degree feticide, domestic abuse-pregnant victim and simple criminal damage to property, according to MyArklamiss.
