Lynette Hooker Missing: GPS Data Contradicts Statement Of Missing Woman’s Husband, New Probe To Begin

Investigators find major discrepancy in Brian Hooker’s account of incident
Lynette Hooker’s disappearance has now stretched close to two months. The 55-year-old woman was last seen on a dinghy with her husband, Brian, as the two traveled through the waters of the Bahamas. According to her spouse, she allegedly fell off the vessel and drifted away before he could find her. Since then, Brian has remained a key figure in what investigators believe may involve foul play.
According to a recent report, newly obtained evidence from Brian’s GPS device revealed information that contradicts his initial account of the incident. As a result, investigators may launch a new search in the Sea of Abaco for Lynette’s body.
Brian Hooker’s Account Contradicted By GPS Device
Forensic investigators have now discovered that the GPS data derived from one of Brian’s electronic devices recorded a completely different tracking of its movement. It shows that the device was out on the surface of the water and even stopped in the Sea of Abaco, before returning to the coast.
It contradicts Brian’s statement, where he claimed that his wife fell off in a completely different area of the water. Thus, the investigators ended up searching in the entirely wrong area for Lynette’s body.
A CBS News report has claimed that during the investigation, Brian had shown maps which tracked the exact route that their dinghy followed that night. But investigators have now started to believe the newly obtained forensic data through the device may cut it all out, since they now have to hunt a completely new location for Lynette’s body.

Given the latest turn in the evidence, the U.S. Coast Guard is said to be reopening another search for Lynette. New permission has been sought from the Bahamian authorities that could now allow the divers to look in the more precise and correct spot of the sea where the woman actually tipped over from the dinghy.
Moreover, the information found through the GPS mechanism of Brian’s device once more puts him under scrutiny for his wife’s disappearance. From the beginning of the investigation, he has constantly claimed that Lynette fell from their vessel during their nighttime ride in the Sea of Abacos on April 4.
According to Brian, Lynette had the boat keys with her. As a result, after she got swept away by the currents, he was left behind in the dinghy, unable to restart it. It took him hours to manually paddle it to the shore and then inform authorities of his wife’s accident.
Lynette Hooker’s Husband Brian Under Major Suspicion
Since Brian was possibly the last one who saw Lynette alive before she fell from the boat, there has been plenty of suspicion raised against him. Despite promptly informing the authorities, Brian was kept in custody by the Bahamian investigators for five days. During this time, he denied any foul play and maintained his innocence.
Once released from custody, Brian reportedly traveled to the U.S. to look after his ailing mother. His Bahamian attorney confirmed this. However, his current whereabouts aren’t made known in public.
In the meantime, the authorities have requested Lynette’s family members to provide their DNA samples that could help in the investigation for the missing woman. Her daughter, Karli Aylesworth, has already done her part and given her DNA to the Coast Guard, in the hope of finding her mother.
