A Texas man has been arrested after authorities say he allegedly beat two of his neighbors with a shovel.
On April 7, San Antonio police officers responded to the report of a fight and found two people injured, according to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by KSAT.
One of the victims told police that the suspect, later identified as 37-year-old Joe Arechiga, was armed with a shovel and chasing after two young children on bicycles in the alleyway.
Fearing for the kids, the victim stepped in to try and protect them, the affidavit states.
Arechiga reportedly then turned his focus on the man and allegedly started assaulting him with the shovel, police said.
The second victim, a woman, saw her grandfather being attacked, so she tried to stop Arechiga, according to authorities.
