Once at the scene, officers found “evidence of a shooting and a possible kidnapping,” officials said.

The victim, later identified as 36-year-old Kaitlyn Ashley Lynch, was likely injured and held against her will in her own vehicle, WCPO reported.

Andrew Keaton, a neighbor in the area, told the station, “I heard five shots and an immediate two afterwards.”

On Aug. 19, officers in Tennessee found 32-year-old Lance Mason Miller inside Lynch’s vehicle next to her dead body, according to court documents.

Before Miller was arrested, he led police on a multi-county chase that started in Wilson County and ended in Cheatham County, WCPO reported.

He was finally stopped after spike strips were used on the highway.

Authorities say Miller allegedly shot Lynch and then took her car.

The relationship between Miller and Lynch is not known at this time. Officials said the investigation is ongoing.
