The man has been identified as Robert Schreiber, 42. He allegedly broke into the woman’s home on Marvin Street in Patchogue, Long Island, and repeatedly stabbed her 22-year-old son. After the woman called it quits on April 17, Schreiber invaded her home the following day around 8 a.m.

Schreiber is charged with attempted murder, burglary, assault, weapons possession, harassment, and child endangerment. He is being held on $100,000 cash bail, a $1,000,000 bond, or a $1,000,000 partially secured bond.

The 42-year-old is due back in court on May 28. If found guilty, he could face up to 25 years in prison. We will aggressively prosecute this defendant and seek justice for the victim and his family.”

Another such incident occurred in Long Island, where a man identified as Rony Yahir Alvarenga Rivera, 32, was arrested over the deaths of his 32-year-old roommate and coworker, Ana Maria del Aguila-Cordova, 42.

Around 12:30 a.m. on May 1, Aguila-Cordova was found dead outside of an Island Park Wendy's after she had gone out to take out the trash. The second unnamed victim was found dead in her home in Valley Stream. She was stabbed to death.

The attacker turned himself in.
