Maryland Man Accused of Beating His 81-Year-Old Mother to Death During Argument

A Maryland man has been arrested after he allegedly beat his 81-year-old mother to death during an altercation inside their home, according to authorities.

Around 8 a.m. on Jan. 14, officers responded to a residence in District Heights and found the elderly victim, Madia Terry, unresponsive in the living room, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Officials said the victim sustained bruising and trauma to her body, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers interviewed the victim’s son, 45-year-old Mark Terry, who reportedly admitted to fatally assaulting his mother “during a dispute.”

Mark Terry was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree murder, as well as other related charges, officials said.

He remains in custody of the Department of Corrections.
