A man is accused of killing two people hours apartment in Maryland and was shot by police after pulling a gun on cops, authorities said.
This week, police in Maryland announced the arrest of Tramelle Lamar Williams, 22, on charges of first- and second-degree murder.
Around 10 p.m. on Dec. 9, police in Cambridge, Maryland, found a man identified as Williams. He matched the description of a suspect in the murder of Taijay Brian Daniels, 24, and Lory Eugene Fields, 69.
The two were fatally shot a day earlier during armed robberies. Daniels was killed around 7:15 p.m. and Fields around 9 p.m. at separate locations, authorities said.
Police approached Williams as he tried to break into Fields’ vehicle, authorities said.
He ran and pulled a handgun, police said. A Cambridge police officer fired their weapon, wounding the suspect.
Williams was taken to the hospital for treatment and then charged. The officer’s shooting remains under investigation.
