The incident took place in the early hours of April 19. Police responded to calls about a shooting. After arriving at the scene, officers said the victim, who was not named, reported noticing someone “following him closely and driving aggressively.” The suspect, later identified as Jakob Mohr, 24, pulled up next to the other driver and allegedly fired several shots at him.
Mohr turned himself in and is currently facing charges of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and harassment, according to the Sartell Police Department.
KSTP reported that 911 dispatchers said Mohr was driving a red Chevy Impala while the other driver was in a Dodge truck. Sartell Police Chief Brandon Silgjord said the victim was being pursued by Mohr and tried to get off the highway to lose him, but he continued to follow.

According to authorities, the young man tailgated the Dodge truck before pulling up next to it. He then allegedly fired multiple shots at the victim, and one struck him in the leg. “Initially, he saw his windshield had broken, which was his first indication that he was being shot at,” said Silgjord.
Police believe the victim was targeted by Jakob Mohr “due to tensions involving a mutual friend.” However, few details about the motive have been released. The victim is still hospitalized and receiving treatment for his gunshot wound. He is expected to recover.
On Sunday, Mohr turned himself in hours after his vehicle was located at a bar following the shooting. He has been charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and harassment.
Mohr is being held at Stearns County Jail. His next court date has not been announced.
