Missing Morrisonville Child in Possible Medical Distress, NY Police Seek Help

Koltynne Wood was last seen on May 9.
A 16-year-old girl has gone missing from Plattsburgh, New York, and the state police is conducting extensive searches to find her. According to authorities, Koltynne Wood, 16, was last seen on Shingle Street around 7 p.m. on May 9. The next day, she was again seen on surveillance footage near State Route 22B in Morrisonville.

According to the description in the missing persons announcement, Wood was last seen wearing a jean jacket over a white shirt and dark pants. She is 5 feet 3 inches and weighs 100 pounds.
Authorities believe she may be in need of medical attention. Although it remains unclear where she might be, police think that Wood may be in the nearby forest areas or the roadways.
Residents of the area have been alerted about Wood’s disappearance. Police asked residents to check security cameras and search sheds, garages, and wooden property where she may have taken shelter.

New York Witnessed Several Missing Cases Since 2026

Wood is not the first teenager to be reported missing in New York in 2026. Earlier this year, Thomas Medlin, 15, disappeared after traveling from Long Island. He was last seen in January 2026. In March, his body was recovered from the waters off Red Hook, Brooklyn.
Another missing teenager case was reported in Westchester County. The teenager has been identified as Travis. He went missing on May 1, 2026, in Pleasantville, New York. Authorities are searching for him and have asked for tips that could help ensure his safe return.
Another active missing case involves Alana Edna Watson, 16, who was last seen on January 28. She went missing near North Main Avenue and Kent Street, Albany. The case remains open.
