At the scene, officers found Santisha Lopez, 23, with her 2-year-old boy on her lap inside the vehicle, which was stuck on a curb near the river, according to officials.

Police said an investigation determined Lopez had been in a domestic-related incident shortly before driving to the boat launch.

The child was uninjured during the incident and placed in the custody of a family member, WTEN reported.

In addition to a second-degree attempted murder charge, Lopez faces a count of endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

She was being held at the Albany County jail.
