Two teens in Tennessee have been arrested for allegedly shooting at a police officer and authorities say it was their own mother who turned them in.
On April 2, a police officer in Holly Springs attempted to pull over a vehicle that was driving recklessly without its headlights on, according to court documents obtained by WMC.
Police said a brief chase ensued before a suspect in the car fired two shots and fled.
Officials alerted other agencies about the suspects, who were last seen in Memphis.
A sheriff’s deputy in Marshall County eventually spotted the suspects’ vehicle, but then the suspects ran into the woods, authorities said.
According to officials, the pair were seen on doorbell surveillance footage shortly after the shooting.

Law enforcement released their images to the public — leading the suspects’ mother to turn them in on April 3.
The teens’ mother told WMC, “I don’t play no games with them. If you want to do the crime you gotta do the time — Plain and simple.”
