Man accused of beating his 82-year-old grandfather to death with his bare hands, but he denies the allegation

A man is accused of beating his 82-year-old grandfather to death and now faces a murder charge, according to a report.
Around 3 a.m. on Feb. 18, police in Colonie, New York, were called to a home for a reported fight, according to News 10.
At the scene, officers found Gerald Curran, 82, with a serious head injury. He was taken to the hospital and later died from his injuries, according to News 10.
Investigators identified his 33-year-old grandson Nicholas Pantoni as the suspect. He fled the scene and was arrested hours later, according to the report. He was initially charged with first-degree assault but now faces a count of second-degree murder after the victim’s death.

Police have not said what led to the alleged attack.
Pantroni’s attorney told News 10 that his client denied that he killed his grandfather.
