KXAN reported that the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Thomas Alejandro Gonzalez, 30, in southeast Austin. His arrest is in connection to the gruesome death of Lawrence Grayson, whose body was located in an open area of land near 1600 Stassney Lane on April 16.

According to an affidavit, Austin police were told of Grayson's death April 13, though it happened days before. A witness led police to the woods in an open area of land near a creek, where they found Grayson's body with 10 "chop force" injuries to the head, KXAN noted.

An autopsy said the fatal injuries were consistent with machete strikes, KXAN reported. A witness said the attack was "completely unprovoked," adding that Gonzalez had previously "robbed and humiliated" another person.
