A group forced their way into a home and killed a victim, and now police said they have arrested one of the suspects.
Around 3:15 a.m. on Aug. 30, the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office In North Carolina responded to a reported shooting.
There, deputies found 51-year-old Reginald Lamont Blackmore with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the sheriff’s office. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators determined three men went into a home wearing masks. One of the suspects pushed passed a woman and encountered Blackmore.
The woman reported hearing several shots and then the men left.
Police identified the suspects and on Aug. 31 announced the arrest of Dexture Shyheme Smith, 25. He was charged with murder and burglary.
No motive has been released in the case.
