New Details Emerge For Idaho Shooting: Police Found 3 Dead, 2 Injured

At 2:38 p.m. on Friday, a shooting occurred on Tank Farm Road in northern Power County in Idaho. When first responders arrived at the scene, they initially found two dead and one injured individual. However, the shooting left three people dead in total, while two were injured. Idaho police are now investigating the incident.
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon. Dispatchers were reported about a shooting on Tank Farm Road in southeastern Idaho. Initially, two deceased and one injured were found. Shortly after, additional shots were heard. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a gunman hiding near the Portneuf River.
New Details Emerge For Idaho Shooting
Deputies also found another person with gunshot wounds. He was taken to Portneuf Medical Center for treatment, along with the others. The Power County Sheriff's Office said that initially, police initiated negotiations with the gunman. However, when he brandished his weapon, deputies had to use force. The alleged suspect died at the scene.
According to the Sheriff's Office statement on Saturday, one person injured at the scene has been released from the hospital. The other person is stable but remains hospitalized. The identity of the people involved in the incident has not been released. Next of kin have not yet been informed.
The investigation is being led by the Idaho State Police. In addition, Idaho Falls Police have been called in to lead the Eastern Idaho Critical Incident Task Force. The Bingham County Sheriff's Office and the Bannock County Sheriff's Office are also involved in the investigation.
Power County Sheriff Kasey Kendall stated on Friday, "Our thoughts are with the families of those lost today and those recovering in the hospital." The statement added, "We are grateful for the quick response of our deputies and regional partners who worked to ensure no further harm came to our community."

According to social media users, the Bannock County Sheriff's Office also sent out an emergency alert after the shooting. The alert said, "Stay away from the area and use alternate routes. If you are in the immediate vicinity, stay indoors."
According to Cache Valley Daily, several local and state agencies have assisted with the first response, including Portneuf Air Rescue, Idaho Fish and Game, regional police, and EMS departments.
